First Choice Credit Union is delighted to launch their 2025 Community Fund, inviting local clubs, groups, and societies to apply for a share of the €150,000 fund, an increase of €50,000 on 2024.
This fund is open to a diverse range of organisations involved in social, cultural, sporting, environmental, educational, and charitable activities within the Credit Union’s ‘common bond’ area. Eligible groups operating in Achill, Balla, Ballyhaunis, Castlebar, Kiltimagh, Swinford, and surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.
Commenting on the initiative, Anne King, CEO of First Choice Credit Union, stated:
“We are delighted to invite applications for a share of our €150,000 Community Fund. This significant investment will positively impact many individuals and organisations within our common bond. As a community-focused financial co-operative, we are proud to reaffirm our commitment to supporting the local communities we serve.”
Designed for larger-scale projects and initiatives that will provide widespread community benefits, the Community Fund operates separately from the Credit Union’s existing sponsorship and financial support programs, which will continue as usual.
Joe Butler, Chairperson of First Choice Credit Union, added: “This year’s fund totalling €150,000, represents a substantial contribution to our local communities, and we are proud to fulfil our commitment to giving back. Many outstanding organisations carry out invaluable work every day, but additional funding could enable them to achieve even more. We encourage clubs, schools, environmental groups, and community organisations to apply before the 30th June 2025 deadline.”
Applications for funding are now open and must be submitted online at www.firstchoicecreditunion.ie. Applications must be submitted on behalf of an organisation or group; individual applications will not be considered. Full terms and conditions are available at www.firstchoicecreditunion.ie.
The application deadline is 30th June 2025.
