The First Choice Credit Union Schools Quiz took place on Sunday 28th January to a packed Breaffy House Arena. Over 40 schools made there way to the final, having been whittled down from over 70 entries. Teams were competing in two categories, Competition A which was U-11 and Competition B which was U-13.
The bare minimum separated the top spots in the U-11’s with Scoil Raifteirí coming out on top by one point after a tiebreaker with Straide N.S. There was also a joint third position with St. Joseph’s Derrywash N.S. and St. Peters N.S. Snugboro.
In the U-13’s, Breaffy N.S. ran out winners followed by St. Patrick’s Boys N.S. and Parke N.S. in third place.

Well done to everyone who took part, the competition was super high with some top answers and how could we forget the great joke telling in between rounds. Scoil Raifteirí, Straide N.S., Breaffy N.S. and St. Patrick’s Boys N.S. went on to compete at Chapter Level in Ballina on Sunday 4th March on the back of coming first and second in their respective age groups. Schools from across the region took part and in what was a close contest, our teams marginally missed out on making it through to the National Finals on 8th April.
