First Choice Credit Union is proud to unite with credit unions worldwide to celebrate International Credit Union (ICU) Day on Thursday, October 17, 2024. This marks the 76th anniversary of ICU Day, a moment dedicated to honouring the enduring legacy of the credit union movement, highlighting its accomplishments, and recognising the role credit unions play in enriching the lives of their members.
To mark ICU Day, First Choice Credit Union will have giveaways, treats, fun activity sheets and competitions in all of their offices so be sure to pop by.
Since its inception in 1948, ICU Day has been observed on the third Thursday of October. This year’s theme, One World, underscores the integral part that credit unions play in fostering global solidarity through member-owned, cooperative financial systems. In an era where divisions seem to widen, this theme reinforces the credit union ethos of “people helping people” and their power to bring individuals and communities closer together.
Commitment from credit unions remains unwavering to deliver financial solutions that prioritise members’ needs over profit. From our trusted in person services to our convenient online presence, credit unions continue to support communities across the island. Through our bursaries, community sponsorships, community development projects, credit unions have been a strong pillar in giving back to the community.
Shane Melia, Marketing Manager at First Choice Credit Union said “First Choice Credit Union has proudly served our members for over 58 years.
