2017 Art Competition

2017 Art Competition

How To Enter

Entry is VERY easy. Just pop into any of our branches in Castlebar, Balla, Achill, Ballyhaunis or Carnacon and ask for an entry form – it’s as easy as that! We have ample entry forms in house and are more than excited for you to come in a pick them up.

Closing Date

The competition had 3 stages… the local level, the Chapter level and the League level, all of which have a variety of fantastic prizes. The closing date for entry to the local level (which in turn passes winner to the next level and so forth) for First Choice Credit Union is October 27th 2017.

Free Your Imagination

The ‘SET YOUR IMAGINATION FREE’ theme is designed to give everyone, young and old, full scope to express their thoughts, imaginings, and anything that inspires them. Participants are encouraged to interpret the theme in any way they wish and to let their imagination alone set the rules for what they create.

The annual competition is part of the Irish League of Credit Unions’ (ILCU) commitment to supporting the artistic development of both young and old in communities throughout Ireland. Producing and creating art can have many benefits for adults, such as reducing stress and aiding the development of creative problem-solving skills. For children, painting and creating art can nurture fine-motor skills and neural development, while allowing them to express their emotions.

Categories

There are two categories – General and Special – with five age groups in each:

7 years and under, 8-10 years, 11-13 years, 14-17 years, 18 years and over (and a further Group section in the SPECIAL category).

The Special Category encouraged participants with a physical or intellectual disability to submit entries in free expression without the restriction of the competition’s official theme, if they so wish.
