In conjunction with First Choice Credit Union, transition year students from Balla Secondary School recently took part in the nationwide Clued Ininitiative.
Clued In is a Credit Union initiative which provides a platform to enable students gain a better understanding of personal finance and the role of credit unions in a concise, easy to follow, engaging format. The resource helps to explore our relationship with our finances, good and bad, and to look at ways we can all make smarter, more informed decisions.
TY Students from Balla Secondary School developed and delivered a PowerPoint presentation to the school’s Junior Business Classes outlining the services provided by their local First Choice Credit Union in Balla.
In what turned out to be a very informative and fun initiative, students broke out into groups and each chose a specific segment of their presentation to deliver. Not only did they compile the content but also designed and recorded the content aimed at enhancing and developing students’ communication skills, teamwork skills, presentation and typing skills.
Commenting on the Clued In initiative, Shane from First Choice Credit Union, said, “Clued In aims to equip students with the knowledge to manage their finances smartly – now and in the future; the kind of knowledge that puts you in control. Congratulations to the students of Balla Secondary School on completing their project in what turned out to be hugely successful and informative for all involved.”
